Syed Isa Syed Alwi is the founder and C.E.O of Algatech Group of companies, a Malaysian based algae company with subsidiaries, Biomac , Sasaran Biofuel, Sasaran Varicon Aqua and Bio herbal extracts Sdn Bhd. The company commenced its business 7 years ago to be involved in developing and commercializing biodiesel feedstock, algae R&D and production and processing technology.

Tony is the Principal of New Horizon Capital Limited, a boutique advisory firm that focuses on providing strategic planning and fund raising services to early stage and high growth companies. Tony’s experience with a Start-up VC program provides him with a depth of experience on the issues facing start-up and early stage businesses. Recently Tony has been working with the leading UK Angel Investment Network, Beer and Partners where he has successfully raised capital for a range of early stage and growth businesses.

Tian is a Biology lecturer in the  Department of Foundation Studies, teaching at pre-university level in University Tunku Abdul Rahman, Kuala Lumpur. He completed his Master's Degree in the University of Pennsylvania in the field of Biotechnology in 2002.

Benjamin Smith studied for his MChem at Durham University. At present he is carrying out his PhD at Durham University, funded by the EPSRC and KiOR, under the supervision of Dr Chris Greenwell and Dr Andy Whiting, where his research focuses on mineral catalysed decarboxylation reactions for biofuels.

Keith has a Ph.D. in plant biochemistry and is Professor and Director of the Institute for Environmental Biotechnology, Rhodes University. Keith is also a consultant and provides scientific management consulting services to chemical and agrichemical companies, research institutes, universities, and individual scientists.

Associate Prof Misni obtained his PhD in Algal Physiology from the University of Dundee, Scotland (1989). He is currently lecturing in the Science University of Malaysia, Penang in the School Of Distance Education.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suhaimi Napis received his BSc (Biology) and MSc (Veterinary Immunobiology) from Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, USA. He holds a Doctorate degree from the University of Durham, UK in the field of Plant Molecular Biology.

Prof Shufen  is the Professor of School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Tianjin University, China. Currently she is lecturing graduate students on the topics  Supercritical Fluid Technology: Principles and Application, Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics and Advanced Separation Engineering in Pharmacy.

Garth Taylor is Austrade's ASEAN Trade Commissioner, Clean Energy and Environment. He has science, engineering and economics degrees, and is a licensed electrician.

Worked in distillation technology; heat transfer technology and Birla Group Company. Manufacturing basket type centrifuge machine since 1980 after gaining overall experience of three years with leading centrifuge manufacturers of India.
